Question 1

How much is the booking deposit? Can I reschedule?

Accepted Answer

The deposit is payable AFTER I confirm the session availabily, following your enquiry. Reach out and  reserve your date today - at no cost.

The deposit to secure your sesison is $150. This is non-refundable, however sessions can be rescheduled or the deposit credited to a different session type (so you don't lose your deposit).

72 hours notice is required to reschedule a session, unless due to unexpected serious ilness or health complications.

Question 2

What if I am not comfortable Infront of a camera?

Accepted Answer

Family and newborn lifestyle sessions are designed to be natural and easy, whether outdoors or in-home. No awkward poses or stiff smiles here! Ideally, you will ease into and and barely notice the camera by the end, and the focus will be on capturing moments as they unfold, not on posing or perfection.

Generally my sessions start off with some more formal poses and gentle guidance, and then as everyone relaxes we follow a more free flowing approach. My job is to make sure I position myself and my camera in the right place to get your best angles. Your job is to be present in the moment.

To take the pressure off, each person only has a few minutes at a time of direct attention, before I swap out to some one else, or focus on just the baby. Children are generally free to come in and out of the frame as they please - and I am comfortable working around them.

Question 3

I'm worried about my baby/child not cooperating during the shoot

Accepted Answer

Don't worry! I allow plenty of time to settle and calm baby if required during the photo session.

As for the kiddos, temper tantrums and frowns are all part of the journey! I let the children lead, so everyone can relax and we capture real, unscripted smiles.

The studio is child friendly, with toys and play spaces that children are free to use between takes.

Generally kids are free to come and leave the frame as they wish. I am flexible and will work around to capture those authentic moments of connection.

I encourage parents to not worry about coaxing their child into poses or smiles. I find if given the space and time to observe, most will spontaneously decide to join. This is when they are most relaxed and open to direction from me - making for genuine, happy family moments.

Question 4

What is the best timing for newborn/maternity photo sessions?

Accepted Answer

For maternity photos, booking between 32-34 weeks gestation gives you a glowing, beautiful belly. Newborn photo sessions are ideally done between 4-14 days old, when your little one is still sleepy and flexible. Sessions are limited, so please enquire at least 6 weeks ahead. Sometimes cancellations create availability, so feel free to reach out if you’re in need of a last-minute session!

Question 5

What is required for a professional in-home newborn photoshoot?

Accepted Answer

I can work with most spaces. I focus on capturing the beauty in your environment, even if its not perfect. As I use natural light in my sessions, the most important thing is access to a well lit room out of harsh, direct light. Fortunately I don't need very much space. A neat, uncluttered room like a lounge room, master bedroom or nursery is ideal. Are professional family and newborn photos really worth it?

Accepted Answer

I completely understand that budgeting for professional photography can feel like a big decision. That’s why I offer AfterPay to split your payments into 5 instalments.

While smartphones are great for quick snaps, professional photography goes far beyond that—it’s about capturing genuine emotions, using expert lighting and composition, and creating images of superior, fine-art quality perfect for large prints that will stand the test of time.

DIY photography also makes it nearly impossible to include the entire family in candid, heartfelt moments. Often, one person—usually the one behind the camera—is left out and rarely has photos of themselves. With a professional photographer, everyone gets to be part of the memories, creating a complete story of your family to cherish forever.

It may seem like a big investment, but these photos last a lifetime. Think about how much we spend on fleeting indulgences—like coffee runs or a trip to the nail salon. In comparison, professional photography creates something timeless, capturing precious snapshots for you and future generations.

I guarantee in 10 years’ time you won’t be thinking about the cost while reminiscing over your beautiful memories.

Question 7

How are photos selected and edited?

Accepted Answer

I select up to 100 of the best images from your session to lightly edit. This involves applying colour grading and cropping. These are then delivered for your review, where you can select your final images according to your package. At this point you also have an option to upgrade your package.

Then your final selection will be finely hand retouched to remove distractions such as baby acne, fly away hairs, even skin tones or clean up backgrounds etc.

Some artistic styling can also be applied such as selective lightening, darkening or blurring of areas.

My editing services do not include slimming or  body reshaping.

Are there any hidden costs?

Accepted Answer

No hidden fees here. Your package includes the images that matter most. Optional upgrades for extra photos help cover the time spent editing, while the digitals are always yours to share, print, or frame however you like.

What print and framing options to you have? Is it affordable?

Accepted Answer

I offer digital packages as standard, which gives you full control over how and where you print you images.

For your convenience, I also offer quality, yet affordable printing and framing options which come with a quality guarantee. You can view the range of framing and print options here.

This means the colours will look as they should, and the carefully considered choice of frame tone will make your wall art pop! It will also stand the test of time without fading.

Question 10

What kind of wardrobe and props are available for newborn sessions?

Accepted Answer

A: I provide an optional range of flattering, classic ladies' gowns and complementary children's clothing to ensure everyone looks their best during maternity sessions.|

If wanting to take photos outdoors or in your own home, I can bring styling and decor items with me for a curated look - or embrace the look and feel of your home as it is. 
For newborn sessions, I supply a variety of wraps, outfits, and props including bassinets and baskets.My photography approach is lightly posed with a minimal lifestyle aesthetic; however, I can also accommodate more traditional newborn setups upon request.

My studio is fully stocked with lots of colours and options to suit your preferences and create beautiful, memorable photos.
