Accepted Answer

A $150 deposit is required to secure your cake smash session date once availability is confirmed. This deposit is non-refundable, however we understand that life with little ones can be unpredictable. Sessions can usually be rescheduled with at least 72 hours notice, and your deposit can also be transferred to another session type if needed.

What if I feel awkward or uncomfortable in front of the camera?

Most families say this before their session, and that’s completely okay. My sessions are designed to feel relaxed and natural, with gentle guidance throughout. You don’t need to know how to pose or “perform” for the camera. The focus is on genuine connection, playful moments, and creating a calm experience for your family.

What if my baby cries or doesn’t cooperate during the session?

That’s completely normal and expected. Every baby has a different personality, and cake smash sessions are always baby-led and flexible. Some babies dive straight into the cake, while others take time to warm up. There’s never any pressure, and we work gently around your little one’s mood, comfort, and energy levels.

Most cake smash sessions are booked when babies are around 10 to 12 months old, usually before their first birthday celebration. This age is perfect because babies are often sitting confidently, showing lots of personality, and reacting curiously to the cake, bubbles, and decorations.

It’s best to book your Sydney cake smash photography session around 2–3 months in advance, especially for weekend dates. Many families schedule the session before their baby’s first birthday party so they can use the photos for invitations, decorations, or birthday displays.

Yes, a professionally made 5-inch buttercream cake is included in both packages. Cakes are supplied by Cakes By Tati and are egg-free. If your baby has allergies or dietary requirements, please let me know before your session so we can discuss suitable options.

Can parents and siblings join the session?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Family and sibling portraits are included in the MEGA Cake Smash package. These photos are often some of the most meaningful images from the session, capturing your family celebrating this special milestone together.

Do you provide outfits and props?

Accepted Answer

Yes — access to the client wardrobe is included for babies in both packages, with additional wardrobe options available for mothers and children in the MEGA package. A range of carefully selected props, balloons, backdrops, and minimal styling pieces are also included.

Absolutely. You can choose from a range of existing cake smash themes and colour palettes, including neutral boho, florals, balloons, vintage, and playful birthday setups. Inspiration images are also welcome if you have a particular vision in mind.

No — all inclusions are clearly outlined before booking. Additional digital images and full gallery upgrades are optional and completely up to you.
